Just saw Labyrinth yesterday, with David Bowie and Jennifer Connolly, the two make quite the pair in the Adoleacent Sexual Awakening Department! Connolly is probably one of the most consistently beautiful attresses of her era, or any era, and Bowie clearly lives up to his prestige in pop culture. I will post my many ruminating thoughts/reception to the movie later, but I am deeply gladdenned to have finally watched it- as an adult, the experience is undoubtedly different that if I watched it as a child, but somehow it’s better this way, as I am able to properly appreciate the richness of Labyrinth’s subtext.
Oh, yes, and today I found this outside my backdoor:
Is this a sign? There are many ways to read into this, especially due to the timing of it- I finished Labyrinth, came home, and found this expired rat. Was it the heat? Old age? The vairy suggests that perhaps it was poisoned, though it may just be from the insects that were beginning to feast on it.
A more noumenal part of me inteprets this as a sign, of my passed away sister whom I affectionately connotated with The Rat (Chinese Zodiac), and that I am being forewarned of some upcoming situation, or perhaps just a sign to mind my destiny… Anyway, here are some memes.
