Or in English

“6 Immortal Girls and The Man Destined to Die”

If you’ve been following me for a while, you may recall my review of “Happy Death Day”, which is about a Protagonist caught in a timeloop. Well, if that was a little TOO dark/gritty for you despite how well written and caprivating it was, then THIS series is the perfect shounen answer to the former’s seinen category.ย  As usual, spoilers! Also, warning, the series deals with distressing themes, such as suicide and sexual exploitation… I mean, the MC literally dies when his Fated Love commits suicide so… yeah… BUT, he does get better! ๐Ÿ˜…

Premise: Osaka Meguru is on a mission to get himself a girlfriend, which is not unusual for a highschool student, but he’s not actually motivated by typical reasons… this has extra layers of meaning depending on whether or not you comprehend the series in various ways! ๐Ÿ˜‰

He does what all desperate people do, which is pray to a higher power, and the shrine deity hears his wish, granting it in an unusual manner; I’m just going to say that depsite being set up like a Monkey’s Paw, it’s mechanics is quite different, and before I finished the story, I thought it possible that the deity actually had noble intentions!

The shrine deity gives him a list of 6 potential Fated Lovers, but if his beloved commits suicidethe he will also experience it, and Time resets to the point of just before the events which lead to said suicide. Our MC is able to help his list of girls overcome respective issues, and does so out of being a genuinely decent human being. Bravo!!!

Of course, the story undergoes a huge twist near the end, and we realise that our MC was actually caught in the bigger narrative arc of the one character we all assumed would be Best Girl, albeit still being so in a rather tragic way…

It’s not too long, so give it a shot!

Here’s some out of context snippets

Oof

I should note that it’s ecchi, but wholesome.

However, one thing that didn’t quite sit so well with me is this one panel of exposition…

I am too jaded now to care too much about the stats, but they were cited in a cute way.
