Well, it’s been a while since I reviewed any manga, but I binged this one all night as I couldn’t sleep due to the medics operating on my leg- this is what extreme parkour is all about!!
Anyway, anaesthetics don’t really work on me, so when the pain gets too much I’ll just find a psychologically unhinged manga to binge, or an easy to watch isekai (a dime a dozen these days).
There are spoilers ahead, as usual, so be warned… not just about the spoilers, but also to the *heavy* nature of this series.
Recap: Our MC is working hard to keep his sister from dying, even skipping school to make sure _someone_ is paying her hospital bills while she’s comatose. Mother is out of the picture, and Father… the less said about that deplorable drunk the better! Which is weird, considering his actual feelings towards “his” “kids”… but it was too little too late… far too late… like, I felt it was unnecessary to know that Hitler loved caring for orphaned puppies kinda weird.
Still, there’s not too many of that kind of weird, and we can hate or love most of the characters in peace. Pur MC is as nuanced as Walter White, however, so while I personally sympathise, it’s going to divide the fandom.

Okay, so what happens in that MC is stuck in a Shinto based time loop. Great, except that it can be exploited and doesn’t reset for him in the same way we see in Groundhog Day, so if you get injured, that carries over. Finally, some degree of accountability for time travel loops! However, this is a problem, because his sister is in critical condition at the hospital, and she loops with him- with a progressively deteriorating condition that might not make it to surgery is she stays in the loop. Fortunately MC realised that answer is just to kill someone, or even be the cause of death for someone, to progress each day, 1 death=1day forward. The goal is to keep killing until his sister gets her Operation.
In one month. So, ONLY approx 30 people need to die.
We then get a slippery slope of justifiable victims, complicated with a Detextive who is basically if L (Death Note) was Sukuna (Jujitsu Kaisen), and a tasteful though terrifying does of yandere side chicks. The ending is also heavily pyrrhic, like in Breaking Bad. ๐

Would recommend you give it a taste, and if you can hold your liquor, try something that isn’t just edgy, but a true dark psychological journey.
Here’s some funny bits I thought to record for you!
